I don't want the girls having too much screen time - so iPads are only evenings onwards and TV only afternoon onwards. JE will do reading, painting, playing. Luckily she's into the Harry Potter franchise now so the interest is there. The books are thick and she has a fair way to go before finishing them.
And SE will just lie down doing absolutely NOTHING. Staring at the ceiling or like this....
Wait for Jojo to play
She knows how to read but just isn't reading. So will merely wait for JE to play with her - mainly involving running around and the like. I'd much prefer she do SOMETHING instead... feels to me like this is a pure waste of time.
I suppose SE has yet to find something that captures her interest. Hope she will grow out of this phase of "doing nothing". Meanwhile mama will have to be patient.
ReplyDeleteHeh yes must be patient and trust that one day she will be self-sufficient.
Deleteday dreaming? hmmm...i dislike reading too...my eyes get tired after lines of small fonts & i easily lost focus...LOL! maybe drawing/painting would capture her interest?
ReplyDeleteThe mind appears to be blank haha. If the older sis is doing art she may also do some. But she'd rather do nothing if she can't join in JE's activity.
DeleteHmm I have always loved reading storybooks.
Ya, better engage her to do other activities like educational board games. Don't want her to spoil her eyesight by reading too much since she is already wearing specs.
ReplyDeleteActually she's not wearing specs at the moment. I'd accepted that she'd always have to since her power was so high. But she hasn't been wearing for quite some time. She does have a pair with quite-low power.
DeleteGuess that is why she doesn't want to read. High power means cannot see clearly so how to read if not wearing specs and cannot see clearly. Did the doctor say it is ok for her not to wear specs? Not wearing specs won't make her power go higher?
