The terms of the EMCO (Enhanced movement control order) which was implemented for 2 weeks in most Selangor districts: Only 1 pax in a car allowed, sporting activities not allowed, only 1 individual allowed out to procure necessities. Our apartment is only a 5min drive away from my parents' place but there wasn't a way to get the kids there without violating the SOPs of this EMCO. For JE and SE, my parents are the ones helping them with school-work. And I am working from home and cannot be attending to them during workdays. So we did the only thing which wouldn't violate the SOPs. Camp at my parents' place for the whole 2 weeks.
We hauled our essentials over - toys, blankets, clothes, snacks etc.
From the initial reluctance (of course we were more used to our apartment), the kids actually opted to continue the arrangement after the 2 weeks. They liked not having to walk the 25mins every morning to get there, just need to walk downstairs for breakfast and then start online classes. Also there is wifi in my parents' place so they could happily play their online games in the evenings.
Whose brilliant idea to move to your parents? I really think it is a brilliant idea. Why need to walk downstairs for breakfast? So now back to apartment. Do you all miss your landed house?
ReplyDeleteThe kids spend a lot of time there actually. Well it's a double-story house so mah walk downstairs from bedroom to dining room lor. :)
DeleteYeah haven't been back to landed house for 2 months now.
I am sure whatever arrangement you have decided on will be the best for everyone. Hope the girls have readjusted being back home.
