Well food was enough. We used disposable plates and cups. Luckily it didn't rain, which would have posed some logistics problems. It was good too to catch up with everyone. Our grandparents are no longer around, so a few years could go by before I meet some of my uncles/aunts and cousins. I totally wouldn't recognise the kids if I were to meet them on the street.
Some of the food
Say cheese, everyone!
Couple of days later, we did a day trip to Melaka.
JE, 7, and Maya, 10
This was a little tiring. It was a hot day too. Still, we did manage to have fun.
Dog, cat, mouse, cheese and us
Our 'visitors' (who are really just 'family') have returned to Canada now. Until the next time!
43 people - sure will need a lot of food but as for seats, can always sit on the floor or any surface. You took leave for a week day trip to Malacca?
ReplyDeleteWell I thought the floor would be fine. But maybe the older ones (hehe) wouldn't find it comfortable.
DeleteYep I took the day off - only worked ONE day that week (which was school holiday week).
That was one big happy family gathering! We seldom get to meet in such big numbers these days!
ReplyDeleteThe last time we had a big gathering was also when these Canadian relatives came over! Well CNY people will be within their 'branch' of the family, some will be at in-laws.
DeleteSo nice to have big family gatherings like that.. even if it can get kinda crazy with everyone in the house. Ours at most maybe 20+? Half of your party size!!

Heh. Courtesy of the family size during my parents' time. The people in this post are from my dad's side where there were 7 kids. (My mum's side is slightly larger with 9 kids). Next generation the numbers had gone down to 1, 2 or 3 kids per family.
