Super angry

SE gets super-angry and looks like she's about to explode.  And she can be like this for quite a while.  She got angry one swim class at a girl in JE's class who teased here and took away her swim board. After class, she sat at the edge of the pool and ranted like a mad person:

SE:  Silly, stupid, ugly Jo Ern's friend! *kick kick water violently*  Took away my board and say booo!  Stupid stupid friend!  Argggghhh!!!  Imagine this (her 2 fingers) is Jo Ern's friend. *beat beat those fingers*  *kick kick water*  Stupid, ugly...

Told her to snap out of it after 15-20mins.

It's hard to get photos/videos though, as she'd temporarily stop the behaviour or go somewhere out of reach of the camera.  This time, our maid took these pics...

Angry

Very angry

Need to teach her some anger management techniques.

Ipoh trip 2019

We were in Ipoh again!  Well why not, it's not so far away, the adults like the food, the kids like... whatever we do there.  Like feed turtles and fish.

We have turtles to feed

There was a turtle that had erm... turned turtle (upside down lah).  I was saying oh RIP, turtle.  SE asked what RIP was, and the following ensued:

Me: RIP means 'rest in peace'.
SE:  Mummy how can something dead REST?
Me: That's what people say when something or someone dies.
SE:  Mummy! I say it again!  When something is dead, it CANNOT rest! Something that is dead cannot do ANYTHING!  Only things that are alive can REST!

Hehe... this 7yo.

We need to feed fish too

We then popped over to Concubine's lane and picked up some food and stuff.

Check out my jelly stick

I guess what I like about Ipoh in a way is we don't have much else to do.  The kids enjoyed the condo facilities...

Hahaha

Hehehe

They just love water heh. I'm happy they have fun outside and not in front of an iPad.

Take a pic of me!

And of course, we ate lots.

Like these swan 'wu koks'

And these googly-eyed buns

And these crabs in bread

I had to work throughout this trip.  But it wasn't that bad as the apartment was comfy and it sure beat working from the office.  Have to count myself lucky that I did manage to take leave in the first place.

The kids didn't want to leave at all and were grumpy that we had to.  Haha... until the next time!

SE's birthday: The Backstory

SE almost didn't get to celebrate at Milky Way for her birthday.  After 2 rounds of dentist encounters, I told her if I have to keep paying the dentist, there's no more money to go to Milky Way.  Well the RM30 of consultation fee each failed round could definitely be put to better use!

Finally at the 3rd visit, the two teeth came out.  SE was kicking and screaming, but the dentist managed to quickly grab hold of the teeth.  One was already slightly shaky (the one without the root), the other wasn't (see the long root intact).  After extracting the first tooth, the dentist managed to twist the second one 90 degrees before SE clamped up her mouth.  Took a few minutes to get her mouth open again then that tooth came out fast.  Hopefully SE's other permanent teeth will come up properly and we don't have to go through all this multiple times!  This successful visit cost RM120 so overall it was RM180 for these first two milk teeth of hers.

The two problematic teeth

SE's birthday is on May 9.  She chose to celebrate later on a public holiday so they could have a longer time to play.  JE bought her a small gift on her actual birthday:

And we went out for a family dinner the weekend after her birthday.

My two girls

And all of us

So in actual fact, SE had quite a few celebrations this round!

Su Ern is 7!

This little feisty one is 7 already!

Check out my silly bee cake!

The 'activity' was at Milky Way Playspace.  Hmm first impression was, it's so small!  But overall it's well-designed so turned out there's enough to occupy the kiddos.

The birthday girl

They had to suit up first...

Happy girl

We are ready!

The place is a obstacle course with different types of obstacles.

On we go!

Up and up

And across

There was a trampoline too, and this green thing where they spent a lot of their time climbing:

Up and down

They still didn't want to leave after 2.5 hours haha.  But the adults were hungry (and tired of waiting!) so off we adjourned to KFC for lunch.

Us and the bee cake
Happy birthday to Su Ern!

Ice-cream

I like this melon ice-cream!

Share with Su Ern ok?

SE: Aaahhh
JE: * holds ice-cream far away

Jo Ern! You can't finish one by yourself! Share this one with Su Ern

SE: Aaahhh
JE: * holds ice-cream even further away

SE: Ice cream?
JE: Hmm (ice-cream still far away)

Ended up JE had most of the ice-cream and only allowed SE a few licks here and there.  I can't buy one each as they normally wouldn't be able to finish.  JE having that much of this one was surprising.  And by the time she finished, SE didn't look like she was keen on more so I didn't bother getting another.

Gymrama competition again

Time for this biannual event.  As usual, there were the rental costumes (JE's with long sleeves and diamonds are RM100, SE's is RM70), the hair, the makeup.

We are ready!

Ready!

The routines are only a minute plus. The girls aren't that good, but at least they take part.  The groups are small and everyone gets a medal.

4th place

4th place also

SE wasn't happy with her placing though.  Some of her grouses, accompanied by a lot of extremely-upset kicking around:

1.  Stupid rope!  Cannot go straight!
2.  The judges are stupid!  The judges are just DUMB!
3.  Why the bad ones get first, and the good ones get last!  (She presumably belonging in the latter group)
4.  People practise for MANY years but still they don't want to give penguin! (Top two get a penguin soft toy this time and my girls were eyeing those.  And SE isn't a diligent gymnast by any standards so the practising many years part is totally overstating it)

There were more that I can't remember now.  Quite funny actually!

Proud of my girls!

Our May1

Work is consuming my waking hours these days.  I work late, rush back for a late dinner and shower around 9pm, take the kids over to our apartment, settle them down for the night and start working again.  It seems that the time I look forward to is when I can finally go to bed at night.  :(  Definitely not a good thing... things should improve after the next couple of months or I really need to look for a new job.  Weekends are pretty much the same except I do try to recharge a bit and of course I need to fetch the kiddos for their activities. (And right now I'm defiantly updating my blog instead of tackling my mountain of work hehe)

May1 public holiday, I didn't work so much.  We went over to 1u.  First the kids did window-shopping, bought snacks and squeezed soft toys...

We like soft toys!

Then we tried out the new outlet of House of Pok.

We are ready for lunch!

It was rather a long wait.  Luckily a hair saloon opened....

Let's get you a nice hair-do
Ta-dah! Braids going into a teddy bear tie and then a ponytail

 Food eventually arrived.
All right, let's check out the food

Slurrpp

Verdict:  OK only.  Price is reasonable, taste is all right.  I'd happily have weekday lunch there but for weekends when we want something different, will go elsewhere.
