Finally Mole

After first setting eyes on this creature back in July 2020, and frequently going back to visit it (blogged about this in Oct 2020), SE finally decided she wanted it.

Mummy, I want to get Mole

Finally Mole is out of Toys r Us.

Hopefully this will be the start of a beautiful relationship. :p

Merry Xmas!

I managed to take some annual leave and was planning to take the kids somewhere.  Already planned Ipoh and a beach nearby.  Then hubby balked at going anywhere with the high number of Covid cases.  Viewpoints differ - cases are high but how long should we cower at home?

Decided to see Xmas deco at just one mall and selected 1u.  Went without hubby since he refused to go.

See? This is a gnome

Mummy says to POSE

Pose we shall!

Mummy likes this gnome with no eyes

Gnome house behind us

Inside the gnomes' house. Cheers!

Merry Xmas everyone!

This gnome/hobbit type of deco appeals to me.  But it was confined to this area.  Guess they had to watch costs during these times.

Co-sleeping with SE

Or rather, my sleeping challenges.  I was going to take the single mattress leaving the kiddos to share the queen one.  Then JE decides to take the small mattress so fine, I share with SE.  It's not enough getting an elbow, a knee, a head unceremoniously plopped onto me during the night.  If I get up to go to the toilet in the middle of the night, somehow in those few minutes she often finds her way to be a nuisance.

Took a photo as proof.  I went to the toilet and came back to find this...

Zzzzz

And she's getting bigger and harder to push away.  I ended up rearranging the pillows and scrunching up into the space available.

Found an earlier photo of her plopping herself onto hubby...

zzzzZZzzz

Pizza plant harvest

I have been so busy on the Shopee app haha.  There is this Garden game where you 'plant' something and 'water' it often then harvest it.  This lunch was courtesy of the app and my repeated attention to my 'pizza plants'.  Pizza is no longer on offer as a 'seed' for planting.  Good thing I managed to 'harvest' four pizzas.

Pizzas from mummy ignoring us to play her game

The small one was fussing about not getting to choose the pizza.  Or for something else.  I forget.  This one is prone to getting riled up about the smallest things.

Hmffp.  Hmffff!

Ahmmm! Yumms!

I moved on to 'planting' doughnuts after that hehe.

The Smurf

SE was wearing her pants like this.  Told her she looked like a smurf.  But later thought it should be Obelix from the Asterix picture books instead.

What smurf?

HAHAHAHA!

My silly girl.

A weekend

Or rather, what we ate one weekend!

Grilled chicken, beef burger, chilli con carne baked fries

The kids are always more interested in drinks than food.  I usually veto having a drinks order as JE from young didn't eat properly and it'd be worse if she fills her tummy with drink.  And I generally want to scold someone (usually hubby the culprit) on the occasions when they do get a drink as both of them would be too busy on the drink instead of eating.  Yes, ONE drink.  Well they only have one food order between the two of them so logical to have only one drink as well.

Sometimes I would relent if they ask for drinks after their food is almost finished.  They loved this milkshake.

Vanilla milkshake, mmmmm

Another day, cakes at Secret Recipe.  Got a good deal from Shopee for 3 pieces of cake.  Should have bought another voucher while it was valid!  Enjoyed all the cakes we selected (rose lychee, chocolate moist and salted caramel macadamia cheesecake).

Rose lychee cake

And the kiddos like the ice-blended drinks at this cafe called Kopi Mesin.

Chocoberry is yums! Next time will choose choco-nilla

Suffice to say all this cafe-hopping doesn't come cheap!  Easily RM15 for a drink, another RM15 for a piece of cake... oh my cheapskate side grumbles.

Condo

Our apartment is not such a bad place to be. It's small but comfy.  Nothing much to do now though since the facilities are closed due to MCO.  At least we have nice food.

Big breakfast with baked beans, hash browns, sausage

They don't want other things like fried egg or mushrooms.

Roast chicken with fries and salad

Wraps with chicken, egg, mushroom and veggies

Penguin ice-cream!

I love being able to walk downstairs and buy all kinds of stuff.

Roll

 Lazy evenings indoors.

Happily snacking and watching TV

Su Ern that is a carpet, not a blanket!

Move? But we're perfectly comfortable.

Nope, she refuses to come out of that carpet roll.

Cafe-hopping

What to do during MCO on weekends when we are stuck in our apartment?  We go cafe-hopping.  I'm not 100% sure this is allowed as the rules aren't too clear.  There is the 2 pax limit per car (just revised to 3 pax) - check, we get there on foot so not in a car.  Max person per table - check, and shop says ok.  SOPs all followed.

However there's also the guideline that people leave the house only to buy essentials.  Then again dine-in is allowed (unlike the original MCO). So....??  Oh we just go lah.

I will stir. No!  I will stir!!

Check out the taste. Mmmm

Not cheap though heh.  Two drinks and a piece of cake cost RM40 which can easily buy us lunch instead.

Another day...

Food, drinks... ready

JE is already asking to go again this coming weekend.

The talker

The small one always dreams at night and remembers them well enough to tell all about them in the morning.  In detail.

In my dream, we were all at this place

We were dressed in pyjamas, I don't know why hahaha

Then this and that and this and that happened... blablabla

Mama? Are you listening?

Ok tell me what happened in my dream

Or course, I had stopped listening quite some time ago!

Dunkin

Managed to redeem these 3 doughnuts from an app.  So pleased there wasn't any trouble getting them!  I was planning to get one for myself but ended up with cute ones all for the kids.  I got them in the morning on the way to work since the outlet would be way on the other side of the highway on my journey home.  And spent the day thinking how happy my kiddos would be to see them that night!  Haha.

Yep they went WOW!!  We hardly buy pretty doughnuts, it has been many months since the outlet we pass by has closed, and that outlet didn't have cutie types.

Doughnuts all for us

Love moments like these!

Outside

Yes there's a 2-pax limit in the car for this CMCO in Selangor.  Luckily there are no roadblocks in the small area we travel around in.  Took the kids for fresh air last weekend to the nearby "goose pond".  This is privately owned by a datuk who doesn't mind people traipsing all over his property.  I was prepared for the place being closed up for CMCO but it was fine.

Check out my dancing, cat

Waggle waggle butt
SE: Aiyo what kind of dancing is this

What cat, you don't like my dancing?

SE found a heart-shaped leaf.

Nice, right?

These kids complain hot lah, scary lah, don't want to climb lah... well since I'd made the effort to drag them out, decided to hang around longer!

Mummy! So steep here! Want go back!

Overall they did enjoy the little break out.  And messing around with all kinds of stuff.

Plucking something

Tangled

One good thing about MCO is not having to go to school, to work.  Which accounts for a lot of extra time a day actually.  Working from home saves me easily 2.5 to 3 hours a day.

The kids get to sleep later and wake up later.

Sun's up and still zzzz. JE is upside down. Wait the small one looks...

All tangled up!  Hahaha

My kids move a lot in their sleep.  I frequently get a hand, an elbow, a knee, a head thrown at me in the middle of the night.

MCO again

Pictures taken shortly before the previous 2-week MCO.  The common facilities in my condo aren't accessible for now as the door to the area is locked.  We have stayed in for 2 weekends... since Selangor MCO is extended another 2 weeks, this weekend I'm planning to get the kids outdoors again.

So nice eating my unicorn Cornetto here

Good thing there are plenty of food outlets nearby.

Food! So this is churros?

No school

Kiddos are on another unscheduled break from school.  First it was 2 weeks off due to the high cases around the school.  Then came the current Selangor CMCO (Conditional Movement Control Order) so add another 2 days.  Will see how things go once this CMCO ends.  For now, it's back to online classroom learning.

On the one hand, worried also if they have to go to school when cases are high.  It would be impossible to really follow SOPs with such a large group of children.  Also, SOPs also don't guarantee the virus won't spread.

On the other hand, online learning is definitely not as effective.  SE especially finds it very difficult to follow lessons.  At least this round the restrictions aren't so tight.  And we are parking ourselves in our apartment for CMCO, close to my parents who can help with the lessons in Chinese.

Nvm, I play a game first

Ah Mah's birthday 2020

Ah Mah's birthday this year fell in middle of Selangor's CMCO.  Well when you can't go to the food, the food must come to you!  We ordered in steamboat and satay.

Satay is always a popular choice in my family.  And there was plenty of food for the steamboat.  Just like the previous time I ordered, there was enough for another dinner the next day!  The sukiyaki soup option was too sugar-sweet though.

Bro and sis stuffing face while birthday girl working to pour out satay sauce

The kiddos fared better with their tomato soup option.

Kiddos happily eating

Sis' cake turned out well this time.

Happy birthday to Ah Mah!
