Ah Kong's Birthday 2023

For my father's birthday this year, we tried a different kind of makan experience.  The place is called "Nyonya Roof Private Kitchen".  It is located in a bungalow and you have to pre-book, pre-order and pre-pay.

The place was really a residential one with the typical living room, dining etc design.  Counted a total of 5 tables, although our long one can definitely be split to multiple smaller tables.

This is where I realise I don't have good pictures of the food hahaha.  The dishes were hit-and-miss - a few good ones, some so-so, some not so nice.  Generally food was too salty.

Overall it was fun and different.  No second time though as we can get better food at a lower price elsewhere.

JE's phone

Realised I didn't blog about this earlier.  I was upset about it - hubby got JE the newest iPhone without checking with me.  I was annoyed for various reasons -  including my opinion that 13 was way too young to be having the latest phone in the market, also that she was spending too much time on gadgets as it was.  JE was actually happy enough with her iPhone 6s hand-me-down.  So she didn't even request a new one and hubby just decided to buy her one.  He said he thought he'd told me his plan.

I obviously couldn't remove it after he'd already given it to her.  So I made her promise to study properly to 'earn' that phone, then mummy would be consider it to be worth it.

So far... she has definitely been spending a lot of time on it.  And with me spending so much time on work, I'm not there to remind her not to.  Will see how this goes.

Yep definitely spending lots of time online.

Crochet ribbon

I crocheted this ribbon when I was a teenager.  It was unearthed recently and SE took a liking to it.  She can't tie it on properly when it's at the back.  So I tied it and took a photo to show her.  From 30 years ago, from one generation to the next.

Barbie movie

We went to watch the Barbie movie dressed in pink - JE's idea. Hubby didn't want to watch.  (How was the movie?  Well I liked it, loved the pink and all, and didn't bother  much with the message.  The girls preferred the Spiderman movie we watched recently - which I hated haha.)  

I wanted a photo with the movie poster only to find the electronic rotating boards outside strangely didn't feature that movie.  SE said she saw one inside but I didn't see that one.  It would probably have been too dark also.  

All pink!

I saw people sharing their photos taken with Barbie props like the doll box.  Our cinema at the Strand didn't have that.  Oh well.  There was this colouring promo which the girls agreed to.

JE is quite into taking photos now and putting them on her Instagram. The little sis would be roped in to take the photos.  Which leaves the mummy free to do her own thing hehe.
