Continuing with my Taiwan posts.
Another rainy day. Our first stop was Chiang Kai Shek memorial hall. Ah I liked this place, so grand.
At the entrance
The memorial hall itself
Statue of Chiang Kai Shek
The building contained a Xin Fu Tang outlet, to the delight of JE who was racking up one boba tea a day. Also a few large halls used for art displays.
I like these pieces of rocky streams
Back of the building
Next we walked to Rongjin Gorgeous time. Hmm picturesque place but we weren't interested in the cafes. Instead, saw this queue across the street and went to join it.
What, another queue?
Oh, it has Michelin stars
Turned out it was for beef noodles. After 40mins of queuing... found the braised beef too salty actually. But was happy to have tried another Michelin-star place.
Slurp, beef noodles
Since we were stuffed, walked over to nearby Daan park. There were numerous benches. It was too wet to sit and relax though, so we didn't enjoy the place.
Raining again
We popped into NET and ended up spending ages there trying on jeans. Success, we exited with one pair each at only RM80 a pair. :) Happier still since we had been shopping for jeans back home without luck! The timing was just nice to look for more food. I was looking forward to hot flaky scallion pancakes...
Queuing again
Got it!
Oops wasn't impressed. The scallion flavour wasn't that strong and it could have done with more salt - overall it was very much like a roti canai. Next landmark at Yongkang Street, Smoothie house. We picked Oolong tea shaved ice. It was huge! Tasted nice though.
Shaved ice anyone?

I go to Taiwan is to eat eat eat eat while visiting relatives. Glad to see you all having a good time eating yummy food 😋 👍
