Merry Xmas!
I managed to take some annual leave and was planning to take the kids somewhere. Already planned Ipoh and a beach nearby. Then hubby balked at going anywhere with the high number of Covid cases. Viewpoints differ - cases are high but how long should we cower at home?
Decided to see Xmas deco at just one mall and selected 1u. Went without hubby since he refused to go.
This gnome/hobbit type of deco appeals to me. But it was confined to this area. Guess they had to watch costs during these times.

Co-sleeping with SE
Or rather, my sleeping challenges. I was going to take the single mattress leaving the kiddos to share the queen one. Then JE decides to take the small mattress so fine, I share with SE. It's not enough getting an elbow, a knee, a head unceremoniously plopped onto me during the night. If I get up to go to the toilet in the middle of the night, somehow in those few minutes she often finds her way to be a nuisance.
Took a photo as proof. I went to the toilet and came back to find this...
And she's getting bigger and harder to push away. I ended up rearranging the pillows and scrunching up into the space available.
Found an earlier photo of her plopping herself onto hubby...

Pizza plant harvest
I have been so busy on the Shopee app haha. There is this Garden game where you 'plant' something and 'water' it often then harvest it. This lunch was courtesy of the app and my repeated attention to my 'pizza plants'. Pizza is no longer on offer as a 'seed' for planting. Good thing I managed to 'harvest' four pizzas.

The Smurf
SE was wearing her pants like this. Told her she looked like a smurf. But later thought it should be Obelix from the Asterix picture books instead.

A weekend

Condo
Our apartment is not such a bad place to be. It's small but comfy. Nothing much to do now though since the facilities are closed due to MCO. At least we have nice food.
I love being able to walk downstairs and buy all kinds of stuff.

Cafe-hopping
What to do during MCO on weekends when we are stuck in our apartment? We go cafe-hopping. I'm not 100% sure this is allowed as the rules aren't too clear. There is the 2 pax limit per car (just revised to 3 pax) - check, we get there on foot so not in a car. Max person per table - check, and shop says ok. SOPs all followed.
However there's also the guideline that people leave the house only to buy essentials. Then again dine-in is allowed (unlike the original MCO). So....?? Oh we just go lah.

Dunkin
Managed to redeem these 3 doughnuts from an app. So pleased there wasn't any trouble getting them! I was planning to get one for myself but ended up with cute ones all for the kids. I got them in the morning on the way to work since the outlet would be way on the other side of the highway on my journey home. And spent the day thinking how happy my kiddos would be to see them that night! Haha.
Yep they went WOW!! We hardly buy pretty doughnuts, it has been many months since the outlet we pass by has closed, and that outlet didn't have cutie types.

Outside
Yes there's a 2-pax limit in the car for this CMCO in Selangor. Luckily there are no roadblocks in the small area we travel around in. Took the kids for fresh air last weekend to the nearby "goose pond". This is privately owned by a datuk who doesn't mind people traipsing all over his property. I was prepared for the place being closed up for CMCO but it was fine.

Tangled
One good thing about MCO is not having to go to school, to work. Which accounts for a lot of extra time a day actually. Working from home saves me easily 2.5 to 3 hours a day.
The kids get to sleep later and wake up later.
My kids move a lot in their sleep. I frequently get a hand, an elbow, a knee, a head thrown at me in the middle of the night.

No school
Kiddos are on another unscheduled break from school. First it was 2 weeks off due to the high cases around the school. Then came the current Selangor CMCO (Conditional Movement Control Order) so add another 2 days. Will see how things go once this CMCO ends. For now, it's back to online classroom learning.
On the one hand, worried also if they have to go to school when cases are high. It would be impossible to really follow SOPs with such a large group of children. Also, SOPs also don't guarantee the virus won't spread.
On the other hand, online learning is definitely not as effective. SE especially finds it very difficult to follow lessons. At least this round the restrictions aren't so tight. And we are parking ourselves in our apartment for CMCO, close to my parents who can help with the lessons in Chinese.

Ah Mah's birthday 2020
Ah Mah's birthday this year fell in middle of Selangor's CMCO. Well when you can't go to the food, the food must come to you! We ordered in steamboat and satay.
Satay is always a popular choice in my family. And there was plenty of food for the steamboat. Just like the previous time I ordered, there was enough for another dinner the next day! The sukiyaki soup option was too sugar-sweet though.
