CNY 2021

Happy Ox-picious year to all!

We had only 2 guests for the reunion dinner.  The others either live too far away and/or have too many people to transport.  Hubby insisted on having a lot of food anyway since it was CNY.  Checking back, this is at least the 3rd CNY I have not cooked at all.  Hubby directs the operations with our maid taking care of the execution.  Oh well, lazy me isn't complaining.

Steamed soy sauce fish, fried chicken, wine prawns, braised pork, roast pork, mixed veg, yee sang, lotus root soup...  not a bad spread although a few dishes were over-salty this time.

Happy CNY!

CNY Day1:  We couldn't go to malls this time, so just dressed up and took photos at home haha.  Well I had bought JE a cheongsam and didn't want it to go to waste.  SE was offered a cheongsam too but she didn't want one and was happy to wear JE's from last year.

Greetings from our house!

And outside our house

Just me and my girls

Hopefully next CNY will be back to normal.

  1. Oh, you didn't spend reunion dinner at your parents' house but in your own landed house. Who are the two guests u invited I wonder.

    1. Yeah I haven't been spending reunion dinner at my parents' house since getting married. The guests are relatives on my hubby's side who stay nearby and don't have big families.

    2. Wow, you still hold tightly to the traditional way of women no reunion dinners with own parents after getting married.

    1. Thanks and happy cny to you and family too! SE yes so far isn't very much into material things, unlike JE. Eating the leftovers weren't too bad as we spread it out... one or two only per meal. Not everything come out and keep coming out until done haha.

  3. Very nice family portraits for CNY. Good that all of you take these photos every year during CNY so that you can compare them side by side to see differences between the years.

    1. Yeah good to have this tradition I think. When we look back now we see the kids growing and growing. While we adults hopefully still hang on to our looks!

    1. Yeah now that growing older, I've decided the time to enjoy is NOW. Used to adopt the 'bersusah2 dahulu' mentality.
