Still got it

The girls used to do a lot of stretching and strength exercises when they were learning gymrama.  Without the regular practice, definitely they aren't so flexible any more.  I egged JE on if she could still do some of them.  The harder ones... not really.  But after a few tries she did manage to do this one.

The little sis as usual is game for anything the big one is doing.

Not bad eh?  I wish they could have continued, but at least they did learn for 3 years.

An eventful morning

Documenting this eventful walk here.  One schoolday, we came down one morning to walk to my parents' place as usual.  The sky was slightly dark but otherwise looked fine.  But about 10mins shy of reaching, it started to drizzle.  And it was the type of rain which very quickly develops into FAT and FATTER drops.  We made a run for it to this shop which wasn't open yet for the day.

I made an SOS call to my father to pick us up as the rain was getting worse.  In the meantime, the girls 'set up shop'.

Hmm where was my father?  It'd been quite some time.  We had been craning our necks for ages looking out for the car.

Finally checked my phone and found he'd been trying to call.  He'd rushed to get ready, and came out to find.... the car missing.  Suspected my mother had gone out to look for us.  

After some more time... my mother returned and yep that's what had happened.  So there were 3 groups:

1. Group#1 stuck at shop  

2. Group#2 at home, ready to rescue Group #1 but had car removed by Group#3

3. Group#3 who embarked on a solo rescue mission.  Without handphone thus uncontactable.  Also thus without the knowledge that Group#1 had dashed to this shop, resulting in an unsuccessful mission.

We had a good laugh.  What a morning!

Storing some here so won't lose them.  This first one was on a scrap piece of paper.  The middle blobby is drawing abs on the rightmost blobby.  See how happy the rightmost blobby is to have abs drawn on it?  The left blobby got hold of a crown to wear on its head.

As part of the story in my "electronic game", these 4 turtles appeared.  No they are NOT the Ninja turtles haha.  I'm amused they are drawn different from each other even though they aren't main characters of the game.  The head deco is different, the patterns on the shells are different, one is holding an axe.

And I had to take a picture of this character which is me.  In the game I wear this cool hoodie-cloak thing with stars and crescent moons.  And beside is the 'pet' I got to chose at some point of the game - pet is called 'Pao'.  SE painstakingly draws me in this costume AND that pet of mine in almost every screen of the game.

Fresh air

Our condo has a common area. The facilities such as pools, playgrounds and reading rooms were closed during MCO. (Just when we could really have used them too!  But safety first).  There were a few areas open though.  We went there a few times. 

This is the "carrot" from me - some snacks.

We have sweets, chocolate, peanuts

JE?  She's on the way to becoming a teenager - always wants to wear black, a little moody, a little uncommunicative.

We stay and chat until I give the signal to go back.

Peace

They're only allowed to play on their iPads at night.  That was the rule I imposed so that I wouldn't have to entertain requests the whole day.  That rule is easier to monitor compared to 'can only play XX hours'.  Hubby would have let them play 24 hours if they wanted.  Because when they do... it's peace on earth.  They won't bother you and they don't want you to bother them.

They do play many hours at night.  But really, at that time I'm usually too tired to care.  Plus also have no energy to do much besides surfing the net myself!

 

Floods of tears

JE likes crying when watching TV.  When she was in the Harry Potter phase (it was intense but it's over already sigh.  We didn't even get a chance to visit Platform 9 1/2 at Ipoh because of MCO), she would keep watching the movies and keep crying at the sad parts.  There was one episode I was watching sandwiched between the two girls. JE was sobbing loudly away with tears streaming down her face.  SE was asking loudly WHY WHY WHY.  Hubby was comfortably seated by himself.  I offered to switch spots with him but he wasn't keen hmmpff.

So JE watches Korean movies, Japanese anime and goodness knows what else in floods of tears.  Of course my job was to take a picture of her doing that.
